Create a Salesforce File List
A Salesforce File List displays a filtered list of files that have been uploaded through Chatter posts or through Salesforce Files. It is a separately-licensed feature.
Display a Salesforce File list
By default, Salesforce Files displays the logged in user’s list of files. If Chatter is enabled, it can also be used to display a Chatter group’s files.
Salesforce Files has one content template called File List.
You can access and download Salesforce Files whether Chatter is enabled or disabled. However, if Chatter is disabled, you won't be able to follow the file.
To display a Salesforce File List
- Create a new content item.
- In Select Content Type, choose Salesforce Files.
- In Select Content Template, File List is the default.
- In the Content Editor, under Display, The Logged in User's is selected by default. When Chatter is enabled, The Logged in User allows you to see the following columns: Actions, Name, Owner, Last Modified, and Display Column Headings.
- Optionally, give the file list a name.
- Under File Actions, you can download a file by clicking on the download arrow in the Action column or you can choose an option for the behaviour when the file is clicked: Download the file; or None.
- List Size (maximum 100; 25 selected by default). Include pagination control is selected by default.
- Include Search is selected by default.
- Under Filtering and Sorting, Use side bar is selected by default. Optionally, you can display a selected filter as a title. (This would override the original Title.)
- Specify Filter Values. You can include All files (the default), Shared with me, or Following (requires Salesforce Chatter.)
- Under Page Linkage, select the page containing the People Detail content item the user will see when a user name is clicked in this list. (Requires Salesforce Chatter.)
- In the Actions panel, click Save.
