Class Styled Record List

The Class Styled Record List template is used to display a list of Salesforce records. You can choose the fields that you want to display and whether users can see all visible records or only the ones they own (if it is a portal site). You can link one or more fields in the list to a detail page.

Typically, the detail page contains content that uses the Class Styled Record Detail template to display additional fields for the record that the user selects.

Use the Class Styled Record List template

  1. In the content editor, in the Salesforce Object list, select the Salesforce object that contains the fields you want to appear on your site.
  2. Drag the Salesforce fields that you want to appear on your site to the Record List panel and arrange the fields in the order you want them to appear (top to bottom in the content editor appears as left to right by default on your site).
  3. Optionally, to link records to a detail page, do the following:
    1. Drag the Salesforce field, or fields, that you want to link to a detail page to the Link record list to detail by panel—the field must also appear in the Record List panel.
    2. Click in the Link to a Detail Page box and select the detail page.
  4. Optionally, drag the Salesforce field, or fields, that you want to sort the record list by to the Sort record list rows by panel, and click to select whether you want to sort the records in ascending order (A-Z) or descending order (Z-A). If you choose more than one field to sort by, it sorts by each selected field in the order they are listed from top to bottom.
  5. In the Show list, select to show either All Visible Records or records Owned by User (this option only works for portal sites).
  6. In the Rows per page box, enter the number of table rows you want to appear on one page up to a maximum of 1000.
  7. In the Actions panel, click Save.

The exact appearance of the Class Styled Record List table depends on the styling applied to your site.

Class Styled Record Detail

The Class Styled Record Detail template is used to display details of a Salesforce record that a user selects from a record list. The list must be created using the Class Styled Record List template. With the Class Styled Record Detail template, you create a table that contains Salesforce record information and, optionally, static text. Static text is often used to label the record fields.

Use the Class Styled Record Detail template

  1. In the content editor, right-click on the table to format it for your requirements. You can insert and delete rows and columns, merge and split table cells, and define cell and table properties. To format more than one cell at a time, click and drag to select multiple cells.
  2. To add a Salesforce object field to the table, do the following:
    • Select the object from the Salesforce Object list that contains the fields you want to appear on the page. You can only select fields from one object, and the object must be the same one that was used in the corresponding Class Styled Record List content item.
    • Click to expand Field Elements, and click the dots on the left side of the field you want to add to drag it to the appropriate cell.
    • To remove a field from the table, hover over the field and then click the remove symbol.
  3. To add text to a table cell, do the following:
    • Click to expand Detail Elements, and click the dots on the left side of the text to drag it to the appropriate cell.
    • In the Insert Text dialog, enter text, images, or Flash videos in the rich text editor. For more information on using rich text editor functions, see Use the rich text editor.
    • To remove text from the table, hover over the text and then click the remove symbol.
  4. Click Save.

The exact appearance of the Class Styled Record Detail table depends on the styling applied to your site.

To preview a Class Styled Record Detail content item, you have to preview the page that contains the Class Styled Record List content item and click to select an individual record. This tells the Class Styled Record Detail content item which record information it should display. If you preview the Class Styled Record Detail item on its own, “No Records Exist with the Provided ID” appears on the page.
