Create Salesforce Dashboard Content

The Salesforce Dashboard content type lets you display Salesforce Dashboards directly on your site.

The dashboards are displayed using an iframe element, meaning that the user sees the Salesforce Dashboard interface embedded on a page on your site.

The actions that users can take from this interface are limited. Users can’t click on individual dashboard elements to display source data, but they can view different dashboards and edit, clone, and refresh the dashboard they are currently viewing.

The availability of different dashboards and the actions a user can take are determined by the individual’s Salesforce permissions.

Dashboards in Communities

To use a dashboard within a community site, edit the details of the community site in Salesforce under Setup | Develop | Sites | Community Site. Set the Clickjack Protection Level to Allow Framing By Any Page.

Dashboards in Intranets

To use a dashboard in an Intranet, disable the setting Enable clickjack protection for non-setup Salesforce pages found in Salesforce under Setup | Security Controls | Session Settings. This setting is not currently adjustable. If you need it to be disabled, log in a case with Salesforce support.

Display a Salesforce Dashboard

The OrchestraCMS user who configures the Salesforce Dashboard content item can specify the default dashboard that is initially displayed, but individual users can navigate to the various dashboards to which they have access.

The Salesforce Dashboard content type only includes one content template of the same name. If you are using the Harmony page templates to display the Salesforce Dashboard content template, we recommend that you use the HarmonyFullWidth page template. The columns in the HarmonyTwoColumn and HarmonyThreeColumn page templates are too narrow to properly display a Salesforce Dashboard.

Use the Salesforce Dashboard content template

  1. In the content editor, from the Dashboard list, select the default dashboard to display. Note that only users who have permission to view the dashboard will be able to see it.
  2. In the Actions panel, click Save.
